HCMC – Nguyen Tien Hoc, former deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, has been detained due to his involvement in Nhat Cuong Mobile’s smuggling, money laundering and accounting irregularities.
Today, November 29, the Ministry of Public Security announced that it had prosecuted and detained Hoc for violating bidding regulations and causing serious consequences, as part of an expansion of an investigation into violations by Nhat Cuong Mobile and Nhat Cuong Software Co., Ltd, news site Vietnamplus reported.
The Ministry of Public Security also arrested Pham Thi Kim Tuyen, head of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment’s business registration division, and Le Duy Tuan, sales manager at Dong Kinh Development and Investment Co., Ltd, based on the same charges as Hoc.
On May 14, the ministry prosecuted Bui Quang Huy, general director of Nhat Cuong Mobile, and eight other defendants, for allegedly smuggling and violating the Accounting Law, which led to serious consequences, and raided nine retail stores owned by Nhat Cuong Mobile in Hanoi.
At the same time, Huy reportedly fled from his residence, and the ministry issued a warrant for his arrest on May 18.
On November 18, the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption placed the case under its supervision.
