Since April of 2020, the academy has conducted a nation-level science and technology project on studying and manufacturing medical robots to deliver items in high-risk quarantine areas.
As a result, the academy created and successfully tested a robot named “Vibot”, and used it in Bac Thang Long Hospital and Ha Nam province’s Bach Mai Hospital.
Amid the complicated development of the pandemic in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces, the academy sent two Vibots to Bac Giang to help the anti-COVID-19 forces deliver food, medicines and other necessities to quarantine rooms. The robots can also move garbage to the treatment facility and connect doctors and patients in a safe manner.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the MTA Major General Nguyen Lac Hong expressed his hope that the academy’s delegation will show resolve to accomplish their assigned missions.
Also, he asked them to strictly follow COVID-19 prevention and control regulations as well as closely work with relevant forces to effectively use the robots for pandemic prevention.
